Welcome
"It is through the process of concocting my soaps, that I expose my passions and creativity.
I want the best ingredients for the soaps that I create. This isn't just about washing hands or getting grime off of your skin. Creating soap that is beautiful to look at, feels good on your skin, and smells so good that it makes you breath more deeply is thegoal. I think about the people - friends as well as strangers - that will use my soap, and how the energy I've put into the making of the soap connects me to those people.
I think about how using that little bar of soap can transform the mundane act of bathing into something special, something magical, for those few minutes or so that we are in the shower or bath. We can be transported to a field of french lavender or imagine ourselves in some exotic land, with scents of cinnamon, patchouli, and spices. (My good Karma blend) It can make a bad day better. I can jazz you up or calm you down.
All of this from a little bar of soap - simply magical!"

AboutLisa's Bear Butt Soaps are made in Charlevoix, Michigan where the lake meets the country woodlands. The name was inspired by her original soaps that were made with the bear fat from her husband's fall catch. Although Lisa no longer uses bear fat, the name stuck and her soaps soar. They are sold in various local stores in Northern Michigan and can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. These are just some of the people who have enjoyed her products:

How Does She Do It?Ever wonder why we're always craving these awesome soaps? Lisa uses a cold-process technique that requires no extra heating or chemical aids for saponification, but relies solely on the heat of the natural reaction between oils, rain water, and lye. This process preserves the integrity of the ingredients. She keeps the natural occurring glycerin (a major moisturizer) while commercial soap companies sell it as a profitable by-product. To make them even MORE mosturizing; she sometimes uses olive oil, coconut oil, palm and other butters like shey, almond, and cocoa butter.
It's not just the scents, these really are super amazing bars of soap! |
